BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Virginia Wesleyan's Paula Pimenta has been named Mountain East Conference Player of the Week after picking up several impressive wins in singles last week.
Pimento, a freshman from Brazil, went 3-0 in singles on the week defeating the top players from West Virginia State, West Liberty and Charleston. She won all three matches in straight sets and is now 9-1 on the year in singles with her lone loss coming in the round of 16 at the ITA Regionals.
Other Top Performances:
Raissa Wischi (West Liberty) picked up a win in singles and doubles against WV Wesleyan ... Taylor Nichols (Fairmont State) went 5-1 in singles and doubles on the week.
