Box Score Shepherdstown, W.Va. -- Women's Soccer continued their winning ways with a 2-0 win over the Shepherd Rams Wednesday afternoon.
When these two teams met earlier this season, the Bobcat's were victorious handing the Rams a 3-0 defeat.
All the scoring occurred in the first half, and Wesleyan found their breakthrough from in-form striker Rachel Ransom in the 17th minute who was assisted by Jade Smith.
In the 32nd minute, the Lady Bobcat's were awarded a penalty kick. Smith stepped for the 'Cats and calmly slotted the ball home giving Wesleyan the all-important second goal.
Wesleyan saw out the second half and withstood the Rams increased pressure with the game ending 2-0. The Ladies outshot Shepherd narrowly 14-13 but had 3 corner kicks to their nil.
Lauren Duncan, who is ranked fourth in the nation in Goals Against Average, registered another shut out being called into action a total of 8 times.
Women's Soccer is now 9-2-1 in the Conference and sits comfortably in second place with third place Charleston 12 points behind. They are 10-4-1 overall, with two games left to play in regular season.
They host third place Charleston Saturday October 26 with kick-off scheduled for 7:00pm.
