Box Score Buckhannon, W.Va. -- The Women's Soccer senior night saw them tie 0-0 with the University of Charleston on Saturday evening.
It was Charleston who applied the pressure early and in the 11th minute a Kimberly D'Angelo shot from 25 yards out had goalkeeper Lauren Duncan back pedaling with the ball just going slightly over.
Wesleyan's first opportunity fell in the 23rd minute from a corner kick. Abbey Lindblad delivered the ball into the box which found Kristi Dalton 6 yards out but with her back to goal. Dalton failed to make any real connection with the ball allowing the Golden Eagles to clear.
In the 32nd minute, Wesleyan's Duncan produced a spectacular save denying Charleston's Danielle Siegrist.
Dalton had another opportunity just before the half. Her shot from the edge of the box however was saved by UC's Jennifer Poppe.
With 48 minutes played, Duncan kept the Bobcat's in the game with another great save diving at the feet of Golden Eagle's Paige Leaver denying her shot.
Duncan was called into action in the 54th minute. It was UC's Paige Leaver again, who forced Wesleyan's goalkeeper to make the save.
Both teams began to tire, and the 'Cats could have stolen the win in the 87th minute when an un-cleared corner kick fell to Cris Eddy in the box, but her shot rebounded off the crossbar.
Not even two periods of overtime could separate these teams with the game ending in a 0-0 stalemate.
Wesleyan was outshot 12-5 but UC only managed 3 on target to Wesleyan's 2. The Cat's outweighed the Golden Eagles in corner kicks 6-4.
Women's Soccer is destined to finish second in their Conference as Notre Dame's win over Concord confirmed them Conference Champions.
The Lady Bobcats are 9-2-1 in the Conference and 10-4-1 overall. The 'Cats play their last MEC game at Wheeling Jesuit Wednesday Oct 30 with kick-off scheduled for 3:00pm.
