Lady Bobcats Take Cardinals

Wheeling, W.Va. -- Women's Soccer concluded their MEC regular season with a 1-0 win over Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals Wednesday afternoon.

This win changed nothing in terms of Conference standings, as the Bobcat's were ensured a second place position, just behind the Notre Dame Falcons.

The only goal of the game came in the first half, after Cris Eddy was brought down in the Cardinal's box and Wesleyan were awarded a penalty kick. Jade Smith stepped up for the Bobcats scoring her 5th goal of the season.

Wesleyan registered 11 shots with 5 on target whereas Wheeling totaled 7 shots all on target. The Bobcat's outweighed the Cardinals in corner kicks 5-3.

Goalkeeper Lauren Duncan recorded her 9th shutout of the season and did not concede a single goal at home during the whole season.

Women's Soccer finish the regular season 11-4-2 overall and 10-2-2 in Conference. The 'Cats will go into playoffs as the second seed with the schedule as follows:
