Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd completed a season sweep of West Virginia Wesleyan with a 74-58 victory on Thursday night.
Brittany Maxey posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Courtney Small netted a season-best 11 points, while Danesha Richardson and Atavia Blake each finished with 10 points.
The Rams were guided by Emily Daniel's 18 point effort. Alex Tamez (15) and Gabby Flinchum (12) also netted double figures for Shepherd.
The Lady Bobcats held a 40-31 advantage on the glass for the game.
Shepherd opened the game with 20-9 lead. WVWC battled back to within four at 25-21, but the Rams went to the half holding a 33-26 lead.
The Bobcats scored 11 of the first 16 points in the second half to trim the deficit to 38-37. Kerry Conroy drilled a three to ignite the run. SU immediately pushed the lead back to double digits with a 12-1 blitz, making the score 50-38. Shepherd took full advantage of four Wesleyan turnovers during the run. The Rams put the game away with a 12-2 surge to take a 66-48 lead on their way to the 74-68 win.
Wesleyan closes out the regular season on Saturday against Davis & Elkins at 2 p.m.
