Two lady Bobcats finished with double-doubles for Wesleyan on the day, Atavia Blake (24 pts, 13 reb) and Brittany Maxey (13 pts, 11 reb). Allie Browne finished in double-figures for WVWC with 10 points, while Danesha Richardson snatched 11 boards.
Finishing in double-digits for Bluefield were Charity Harris (19) and Charlene Diggs (14).
The Bobcats sank a season-high 89 percent (24-of-27) of shots from the free-throw line. Wesleyan dominated on the glass, holding a 48-34 advantage. BSC scored 36 points off of the 30 turnovers.
The Bobcats opened up a 10-4 lead in the first half. Browne and Kerry Conroy ignited the fast start with back-to-back threes. Bluefield State countered with an 8-2 jolt knot the game at 12-12. Neither team led by more than six the rest of the half, Browne was able to beat the buzzer and can a three to put Wesleyan ahead 37-34 at the break.
Bluefield State open the second half with a 24-8 blitz to take a 58-45 lead. The Lady Bobcats chipped away, and with an 8-0 sprint pulled to within one at 70-69. Diggs drilled a three with 26 secpnds left to make the score 77-73 as the Blues went on to the 79-73 win.
