BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – Caleb Ashley poured in a career-best 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field to help the Bobcats end a seven-game skid with a 75-60 win over Bluefield State on Saturday.

Wesleyan wasted no time jumping out to a 26-8 lead in the opening eight minutes. Ashley nailed four threes during the quick start. The Bobcats' offense onslaught continued with a 16-3 jolt later in the half, giving WVWC their largest lead of the game at 50-22. Tanner McGrew scored six of the 16 points. Wesleyan went to the locker room holding a 50-33 advantage.

Bluefield State closed the gap to 10 at 63-53 with a 15-0 surge late in the second half, but the deficit was too much as Wesleyan came away with the 75-60 victory.

The Bobcats will look to make it two in a row on Monday evening as they welcome Glenville State at 7:30 p.m.
