Lock Haven Bests Wesleyan, 4-2

SALEM, Va. – Lock Haven scored four runs in the first inning to down Wesleyan, 4-2 in the final game of the Salem Tournament.

Kaitlyn Carey gave Wesleyan a 1-0 lead with a RBI single in the opening frame. A trio of defensive miscues by the Bobcats allowed four LHU runs to cross the plate in the bottom of the inning. Paige Cummings doubled in fifth to score a run, but the Bobcats could not mount a serious threat as Lock Haven sealed the 4-2 win.

Carey took the loss, yielding four runs (one earned) on four hits with a pair of strikeouts and one walk.

Wesleyan is off until March 30 when they open conference play at home against Shepherd.
