Box Score 2 WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Wesleyan and West Liberty each notched a conference win on Sunday. The Hilltoppers took game one 4-2, while the Bobcats picked up a 12-0 victory in game two.
In game one, Rebekah Honce belted a two-run homer in the second inning to put WVWC on top 2-0. WL tallied one run in the bottom of the inning and a pair in the third to go in front 3-2. The 'Toppers added a solo blast in the sixth to seal the 4-2 win.
Kaitlyn Carey allowed four runs on six hits with a pair of strikeouts and one walk.
In game two, Wesleyan posted six runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double by Honce and a triple from Breanna Taylor. Amanda Davis added a RBI single in the third to extend the advantage to 7-0. Carey laced a two-run double in the fourth and Davis launched a three-run bomb to seal the 12-0 victory.
Jacqui Omichinski struck out five over four innings in the circle. Kaitlyn Hanna yielded two hits and struck out one in an inning of work.
Wesleyan travels to Davis & Elkins on Tuesday.
