Wesleyan, Ohio Valley Exchange Shutouts on Friday

VIENNA, W.Va. – Wesleyan and Ohio Valley split a doubleheader on Friday evening. WVWC fell in game one by a score of 2-0, but returned the favor in game two with a 3-0 victory.

In game one, the Fighting Scots plated a pair of runs in the fourth to take a 2-0 win.

Kaitlyn Carey took the loss, allowing two runs on eight hits with three strikeouts.

In game two, Emily Bennett drove home the game's first run with a single in the first. Megan Malenstyn added a two-run single later in the inning, which would be all Jessica Griffin would need to pick up the 3-0 win.

Griffin scattered seven hits with six strikeouts and three walks in the complete game shutout.

Wesleyan travels to Glenville State on Saturday. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. Steve Warner needs two wins to reach the 800 mark for his career.
