Box Score North Canton, Ohio. – The Women's Soccer team traveled to Walsh University for their season opener Sunday afternoon. The Lady Bobcat's suffered a 1-0 loss in a closely fought contest.
The first half saw no goals from either team, and it wasn't until the 80th minute that Walsh broke the deadlock with a shot from the edge of the box that was out of the reach of Wesleyan's goalkeeper, Hilary Dewitt.
Despite the loss, the Lady Bobcat's outshot Walsh 9-5 with Kristi Dalton leading with a total of three shots. Abbey Lindblad and Hannah Gurtis both registered a total of two shots each for the game.
Dewitt recorded two saves while Walsh's goalkeeper, Michaella Stucky, was called into action four times.
Wesleyan was awarded 4 corners whereas Walsh only had 3.
The Lady Bobcat's are back in action on Wednesday September 11 when they travel to Alderson Broaddus for a 7:30pm start.
