Lady 'Cats Post Another Shutout In 1-0 Win Over Wheeling Jesuit

Box Score

WHEELING -- The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats posted their fifth shutout in eight games as they went on the road to defeat the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals by a 1-0 score Wednesday night in a Mountain East Conference contest.

The Lady 'Cats, ranked ninth this week in the Atlantic Region, have only allowed three goals all season.

Wesleyan keeper Lauren Duncan has been in the net for all five shutouts.

She turned away two shots against Wheeling Jesuit.

Colette Biondi (pictured) gave Wesleyan all the offense they would need in the 66th minute with a goal. She played a cross from Emily Blake and found the back of the net.

It was Biondi's third goal of the season.

Wesleyan owned a huge 20-7 margin in shots and a 13-2 advantage in shots-on-goal.

The win improved the Lady 'Cats of head coach Patrick Holguin to 6-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the MEC.

They will be back in action this Saturday when they host Charleston at 7 p.m.
