Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – It was a match-up of two top 10 teams in the Atlantic Region here today as West Virginia Wesleyan hit the road for a Mountain East Conference contest with Notre Dame.
The Falcons are ranked eighth in the region while the Lady Bobcats are tenth.
It was also a huge rematch within the MEC as Wesleyan has been the only team to defeat Notre Dame in both conference play and overall.
Unfortunately for both teams, 110 minutes of action didn't resolve anything as the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw.
Both goals came in the second half.
Notre Dame struck first with a goal in the 58th minute.
Alexis Manoa sent a corner kick in front of the net that Jillian Doss put away to give Notre Dame a 1-0 lead.
Nine minutes later Colette Biondi (pictured) scored a goal after playing a ball from Kelsey Sitka that was sent in from the right side of the net from about 30 yards out.
It was Biondi's fourth goal of the year.
Wesleyan owned a 12-8 advantage in shots and a 6-4 advantage in shots-on-goal.
Lady Bobcat keeper Lauren Duncan turned away three shots.
The tie left the Lady Bobcats of head coach Patrick Holguin with a 7-2-2 record overall and 5-2-2.
Notre Dame now stands at 8-1-2 overall and 7-1-2 in the MEC.
Wesleyan will return to action this Saturday when they host Urbana at 5 p.m
