CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team was quite able to duplicate the result against nationally second-ranked Charleston here Saturday night in a MEC clash.
Two weeks ago, the Bobcats gave Charleston their only blemish on their record, a 1-1 tie.
This time around, the 'Cats dropped a 2-0 decision.
The two teams played to a scoreless tie after 45 minutes of action at the intermission.
Charleston came out of the blocks quickly in the second half scoring just 36 seconds in when Lewis Osborne scored after playing a pass from Augusto Maciel.
The Golden Eagles would put the game away at the 81:24 mark when Will Roberts scored a goal.
Osborne was credited with the assist.
Charleston owned a 20-6 lead in shots and a 9-2 lead in shots-on-goal.
Wesleyan trailed in corner kicks by a 7-3 margin.
The loss dropped Wesleyan to 7-5-3 overall and 5-4-2 in the MEC.
Charleston improved to 15-0-1 overall and 10-0-1 in the MEC.
The Bobcats will play again this Tuesday against Wheeling Jesuit.
Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
