FAIRMONT -- Mother Nature played havoc with the West Virginia Wesleyan-Shepherd women's MEC match here today at Fairmont State University.
Despite its best efforts to slow down the match, the weather couldn't slow down the Lady Bobcats as they easily handled Shepherd in a 7-1 victory.
Wesleyan swept the singles matches that were completed and won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Wesleyan and Shepherd was not able to finish their match at No. 6 singles.
"We dodged the rain all day starting at 10:30 a.m.," remarked head coach Marc Walters. "We had delays three different times for a total of four hours. We completed the match at 6:30 p.m.
The win left the women with a 3-3 record overall and a 2-3 MEC ledger.
Wesleyan will return to action this Wednesday at West Liberty. It will begin at 4:30 p.m.
