Box Score WEST CHESTER (Pa.) -- All good things must come to an end and they did for the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat soccer team Friday afternoon in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Lady Bobcats battled West Chester on their own field and came up just short in a 1-0 loss.
West Chester scored just five minutes into the game and the proved to be the difference.
Scarlett Walsh played a pass from Kara Parvel and scored from 10 yards out to the right of the net.
In the second half, West Chester managed to get a few good looks at the net but Wesleyan controlled play for most of the final 45 minutes.
West Chester owned an 8-7 advantage in corner kicks and a 5-2 margin in shots-on-goal.
West Chester had a 2-1 margin in corner kicks.
Wesleyan was called for 13 fouls while West Chester was whistled for 11.
The loss ended the season for the Lady 'Cats leaving them with a 13-5-3 record.
West Chester advanced to play St. Rose Sunday afternoon in the Elite 8.
They improved their record to 17-2-2.
