Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, OHIO – Utter heartbreak and disappointment for the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats in their Mountain East Conference championship clash with the Notre Dame Falcons here Sunday afternoon.
Wesleyan and Notre Dame battled for 88 minutes without a score, but Notre Dame tallied the game's lone goal with just 93 seconds remaining when Alex Defilippo scored.
Maranda Melton played a long ball through the Wesleyan defense that Deflippo ran up on and scored from eight yards out.
Notre Dame owned a 9-to-8 lead in shots and a 6-5 margin in shots-on-goal.
The Falcons also had a 2-1 lead in corner kicks.
Notre improved their record to 14-2-2.
Wesleyan now has a 12-4-2 record and will await to see if they receive a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
