Box Score 2 Institute, W.Va. -- The Bobcat softball team split a pair of games with the West Virginia State Yellow Jackets Saturday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field in Institute, W.Va. Both contests were pitcher's dual's as the Yellow Jackets claimed the first game 2-0 and the Bobcats stole the second game, 3-1.
Jessica Griffin would pick up the victory for the 'Cats in game two as she went all seven innings. Dominate pitching would keep any player from picking up multiple hits in the contest, however, the middle of the Bobcat line up would provide the team's three RBI's that would lift the Bobcats to the win.
In game one the Yellow Jackets would blank the Bobcats 2-0, allowing six hits. Freshman Kristina Nelson would suffer the loss for Wesleyan as the team is now 1-1 in MEC play. The Lady Bobcats will head to Charleston Sunday for more action. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm.
