Box Score 2 Charleston, W.Va. -- The Wesleyan softball team swept two games from the Charleston Golden Eagles Sunday afternoon in Charleston, W.Va. The Bobcats would use two runs in the top of the sixth in game one to jump ahead of the Eagles that Jessica Griffin preserved to collect her second save of the season winning 3-2. Previous MEC Pitcher of the Week, Jacqui Omichinski, would earn the victory for the 'Cats as well as adding a RBI and crossing the plate herself.
The Bobcats would use two homeruns, one by Olivia Gore and the other by Tyler Welch, in the second contest and score six runs to down the Eagles, 6-4. Each would go 2-3 from the plate with a run scored and three combined RBI's pacing Wesleyan. Solid defensive efforts also kept the Golden Eagles at arm's length as the Bobcats only committed one error on the day occuring in the second game.
With the victories the Bobcats improve to 18-6, 3-1 MEC and will return home Wednesday to host the Glenville State Pioneers. Gametime is slated for 3:00pm.
