Bobcats Sweep Falcons

Fairmont, W.Va.--Taking advantage of the warmest day of the year, the West Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team swept a pair of matches at Fairmont State University Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats took a 9-0 win in the first match, then got a 7-0 victory in the nightcap.

Wesleyan ran their overall record to 12-4 on the season with the wins, and improved to 5-1 in MEC by taking the first match of the day. Aitor Reparaz, Joel Izquierdo, Jacobo Rendon,  Jack Waldon, and George Wright each registered singles wins for the 'Cats in the opener, Nathan Savill, Tim Stephens, Vitor Carioca, Jackson Carey, and Will George came back with wins in match two.

"We finally had a great weather day, and FSU and our guys really took advantage of it by getting everyone a ton of play," said head coach Marc Walters. "We took our whole team up today, and tried to get some quality reps going into this week to get ready for the MEC tourney. I think both teams enjoyed it and got alot out of it."

Wesleyan returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Wise, VA to face the University of Virginia at Wise in their final MEC match of the regular season. Match time is 2pm.
