Buckhannon, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan College Lacrosse team played their last game of the season at the last official event held at Cebe Ross Field before the renovation Saturday afternoon against the Notre Dame (OH) Falcons. The Falcons would soar to a 22-4 victory after the Bobcats' leading goal scorer, Taylor Holmes, would tie things up at 1-1.
The Falcons, however, were just too strong racking off 11 straight goals before the Bobcats' Emily Noel, Holly Lucke, and Kelly Steen would each answer with a goal of their own before the half heading Wesleyan into intermission down 12-4. The Falcons would hold Wesleyan scoreless in the second half while tallying 10 of their own goals bringing the final score to 22-4.
The improved Bobcat team will finish 5-12 for the 2014 campaign up from last season's 4-11 mark. The team will be one of the many sports benefitting from the transition of Cebe Ross Field and look to be playing all of their matches their next spring.
