Fairmont, W.Va. -- The red hot Bobcat Softball team hit the road Wednesday night to take on the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons.  As the baseball did, the Bobcats and Falcons split their series.  The first contest the Falcons found their way to the top winning 2-1, however the Bobcat bats would ignite in the second game tallying nine runs in the 9-1 victory.

The Falcons would score their only two runs of game one in the bottom of the first inning that would ultimately be enough to hold off Wesleyan's lone run in the top of the third.  Despite out-hitting the Falcons, 6-5, and committing no errors the Falcons managed to hold on for the win.

Showing her resiliency in game two despite being marked with the loss in game one, senior Jessica Griffin knocked in five RBI's pacing the 'Cats to their 9-1 win.  The Bobcats would explode for 14 hits while Jacqui Omichinski held the Falcons to only three hits and one run.  Second baseman, Alex Furr, would also play a pivotal role in the leadoff position as she was 4-4 with two runs scored in the contest.

The Nationally #17th ranked Bobcats will return home this weekend in a crucial match-up with the UVa-Wise Cavaliers at 2:00pm on Saturday and then the Concord Mt. Lions on Sunday at 1:00pm.
