Salem, Va.  -- The Wesleyan softball team advanced to the finals of the winner bracket after beating the Urbana Blue Knights 8-2 in the MEC Tournament.  Senior Jacqui Omichinski would go the distance in the win for the 'Cats allowing only two runs scattering nine hits.

After the Blue Knights posted a first inning run the Bobcats would answer back in the bottom of the third scoring five runs, four of them coming on a Rebekah Honce grand slam.  Center fielder Carleigh Hall would tally the only multiple hit game going 2-2 for Wesleyan as the Bobcats totalled seven hits in the contest.

Wesleyan will square off with UVa-Wise Saturday at 5:00pm in the Winner's Bracket Final of the double-elimination tournament.
