Men's Soccer Falls Late to Notre Dame

BUCKHANNON -- The West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Notre Dame tonight at the Wood Street Field in MEC action.

Neither team could find the back of the net until the 71st minute.

That is when Notre Dame's Alexis Souahy scored off a pass from Martin Lange for the game's only goal.

Shots-on-goal were even at three apiece while corner kicks were also even at three apiece.

Bobcat keeper Felipe Vial (Plano, Texas/Business Admin.) turned away two shots.

Wesleyan was called for 17 fouls while Notre Dame was whistled for only five.

The loss dropped the Bobcats to 2-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the MEC.

Notre Dame improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the MEC.

Wesleyan will see the pitch again Tuesday when they visit Shepherd for a noon kick-off in another MEC contest.
