SHEPHERDSTOWN -- The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcat football team took the opening drive of the game and scored a touchdown against the 11th-ranked Shepherd Rams here Saturday afternoon.

Wesleyan set up shop at their own 26-yard-line following a Chase Blackwell return.
The Bobcats scored in 12 plays on a drive that chewed almost five minutes.
A key play on the drive was the Bobcats executing a seven-yard pass from Jeremy Musselman to Blackwell on a fourth-and-two play.
The drive ended on a 10-yard Mussleman touchdown run.
Kasper Bernild kick attempt was good to give Wesleyan a 7-0 lead.
The lead was short-lived as Shepherd's C. J. Davis took the kick-off back 91 yards for a Ram score tying the game at 7-7.
It was all Shepherd after that as they scored 37 unanswered in the first half to a 44-7 lead at the intermission.
The Rams tacked on 12 second-half points.
Wesleyan was their own worst enemy in the game committing four turnovers, being whistled for nine penalties and allowing four sacks.
Wesleyan's high-potent offense was held to a season-low 158 yards -- 127 yards in the air and 31 on the ground.
