Box Score FAIRMONT – It took over 65 minutes for the 15th-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team to find the back of the net, but once they did, they found it quite often as they poured in three goals in the final 25 minutes as they downed the Lady Falcons by a 3-0 score.
Melissa Guydish broke the scoreless tie at the 68:07 mark when she played a pass from Kristi Dalton in front of the Fairmont State goal and beat Lady Falcon keeper Shawna Graham for the score.
Twelve minutes later, Tiana Bennardo made it a 2-0 game after scoring from the corner of the box.
Emily Blake was credited with the assist.
With eight seconds left in the contest, Colette Biondi accepted a pass in front of the goal from Jane Schleicher for the final score.
Wesleyan owned a huge 24-5 margin in shots and a 12-1 advantage in shots-on-goal.
Wesleyan keeper Hillary Dewitt turned away the one shot she saw.
Both teams were guilty of six fouls.
The win improved the Lady Bobcats to 12-0-2 overall and 8-0-2 in the Mountain East Conference.
Wesleyan will return to action this Sunday when they host Notre Dame at 3 p.m.
