CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis season came to an end as they were dealt a 5-0 setback by West Virginia State in a Mountain East Conference semi-final match today at the Schoenbaum Tennis Courts.
West Virginia State took all three doubles matches and won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles for the sweep.
"We lost 5-0 to State, but played much better than the first time around," remarked head coach Marc Walters.
Wesleyan dropped a 9-0 decision to State back on Sept. 23.
"I was pleased with our effort and our game management," Walters said. "We need to get better at what we want to do and keep focused on staying out of trouble, especially on the doubles courts. But I saw improvement all around."
Wesleyan ended their fall season with a 7-4 record.
