Box Score BUCKHANNON – Senior midfielder Jessica Hardman accomplished a significant milestone here Sunday afternoon against the Urbana University Blue Knights recording her 125th career goal in a West Virginia Wesleyan uniform.
Hardman also tallied eight goals to help lead the Lady 'Cats to a 22-5 victory.
The 22 goals matches a season-high which the Lady 'Cats accomplished two other times this season.
The Lady 'Cats came out the gates strong and never looked back.
Wesleyan scored the first six goals of the half to go up 6-0 with 21:57 remaining in the first half.
Hardman scored twice, Emily Noel scored twice and Hannah Antonelli and Natalie Schaffner each had a goal during the early run.
Urbana scored four of the next six goals to make it an 8-4 contest, but Wesleyan tallied the final three of the half to take an 11-4 lead into the break.
Hardman, Antonelli and Schaffner each had a goal to close the half.
Urbana scored the first goal of the second half, their only goal of the half, but couldn't slow down the Lady Bobcat attack as they scored the final 11 goals of the game.
Five Lady 'Cats managed to get into the scoring act.
Hardman led the way with eight, Schaffner a season-high six, Noel and Kim Lubic each had three apiece and Antonelli had two.
Wesleyan outshot Urbana by a 42-17 margin.
Current MEC Defensive Player of the Week, goalie Lexi Swisher, recorded eleven saves in the win.
The win improves Wesleyan to 8-3 on the season and 1-1 in the Mountain East Conference.
The Lady 'Cats will next take the field on Sunday, April 12 against the visiting Shepherd Rams.
Shepherd is currently 5-3 and 1-0 in the MEC.
The contest is slated to start at 1 p.m.
