Box Score BUCKHANNON – A Laura Hill goal in the second half was the only goal the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat soccer team needed against the University of Charleston in a Mountain East Conference contest here Sunday afternoon at Culpepper Stadium.
Wesleyan won the 1-0 decision on a cold and wet afternoon.
Hill scored her goal at the 75:14 mark when she took a shot from the left of the net outside the 18 that crossed in front of Charleston keeper Zoe Zyta.
Wesleyan controlled play for most of the game.
The Lady Bobcats owned a 17-5 lead in shots and a 10-2 lead in shots-on-goal.
Wesleyan also owned 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Wesleyan keeper Hillary Dewitt posted her third shutout in four games. She turned away two shots as she improved her record to 4-0.
The Lady 'Cats also improved their overall mark to 4-0 and upped their MEC ledger to 3-0.
Wesleyan will return to action this Thursday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit in a MEC contest.
Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
