Soccer Bobcats Fall to Urbana, 2-0

URBANA, Ohio – Following a five-goal outburst last Sunday against Concord, the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats couldn't keep that offensive momentum going in a 2-0 setback to Urbana here today in a Mountain East Conference contest.

The Urbana defense stymied the Wesleyan offense to just three shots-on-goal.

The game was scoreless until the 36th minute when Raoui Lassoued scored Urbana's first goal.

Urbana tallied the second goal of the game at the 49:05 mark when Tom Walbeoff scored.

Urbana owned a 6-3 margin in shots-on-goal but Wesleyan had a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

Wesleyan keeper Felipe Vial turned away four shots.

The loss dropped Wesleyan to 1-5-1 overall and 1-4 in the MEC.

Today's outing is the first of a four-game road trip for the Bobcats.

They will travel to Shepherd Sunday for a MEC outing.

The game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
