Volleyball Team Falls to Fairmont State, 3-1

FAIRMONT – All good things must come to an end and they did for the West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team here today in their Mountain East Conference opener against the Fairmont State Lady Falcons.

The Lady Bobcats' five-game winning streak came to an end as Wesleyan dropped a 3-1 contest to Fairmont State.

Fairmont State won the first set, 25-17, but Wesleyan rebounded to take the next set, 25-22. Wesleyan dropped the third and fourth set respectively, 25-17 and 25-20.

Stacie Baumann had 12 kills for Wesleyan while Hannah King and Hannah Moore each had nine.

Katlyn Buckland led the team with 24 assists while Emily Means had 14.

Moore led the team with 25 digs.

The loss left the Lady 'Cats of Ashley Ziegle with a 5-6 record overall and a 0-1 ledger in the MEC.

They will return to action Saturday at 1 p.m. as they remain on the road batting Ohio Valley in a non-conference battle.
