Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN – Colette Biondi scored both of the 19th-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan goals including the game-winner in the second overtime to lead the Lady Bobcats to a 2-1 victory over the Shepherd Lady Rams here today in at Mountain East Conference tilt.
Biondi played a ball from Kristi Dalton and scored at the 30:29 mark of the first half to give Wesleyan a 1-0 lead.
That was the only goal of the first half.
Lexi Vondrak tied the game for Shepherd at the 65:39 mark with an unassisted goal.
That 1-1 tie would remain until the 103rd minute when Biondi scored the game-winner getting a shot past Shepherd keeper Kelsey Rhoderick.
Tiana Bennardo was credited with the assist.
Wesleyan owned a dominating 11-2 lead in shots-on-goal and a 7-1 margin in corner kicks.
Wesleyan keeper Hillary Dewitt turned away just one shot in the victory.
The double overtime win kept the Lady Bobcats of head coach Patrick Holguin unbeaten on the season.
They improved their mark to 8-0 overall and 7-0 in the MEC.
Shepherd dropped to 3-3-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the MEC.
Wesleyan will return to the pitch in a huge non-conference road outing against California (Pa.) this Tuesday.
Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
