Lady Bobcats Tumble to Charleston, 3-0

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team suffered a tough defeat at the hands of the University of Charleston Eagles here tonight in Rockefeller Center in a Mountain East Conference outing.

Wesleyan dropped a 3-0 decision – 25-18, 25-13 and 25-21.

After dropping the first two sets, Wesleyan took an early 6-5 lead against Charleston in the third set.

Charleston outscored Wesleyan by a 12-7 margin to take a 17-13 lead, but Wesleyan took five of the next seven points to close the gap to 19-18.

They couldn't get any closer though as Charleston closed out the third set on a 6-3 run.

Shannon Gregorek and Hannah King each had six kills for Wesleyan.

Paulina Nottingham had 10 assist for the Lady Bobcats while Hannah Moore (pictured) had 10 digs.

The loss dropped Wesleyan to 5-8 overall and 0-2 in the MEC.

They will return to action this Friday when they host West Virginia State at 7 p.m.
