Soccer 'Cats and Millersville Battle to 0-0 Tie

BUCKHANNON – Ninety minutes of regulation time and 20 more minutes of two overtime periods couldn't produce a winner in the West Virginia Wesleyan – Millersville men's soccer match today at Culpepper Stadium.

On a day when temperatures reached the low 90s at kick-off, neither team was able to find the back of the net in the non-conference affair.

"There really isn't much to say about a game like this," remarked Wesleyan head coach Gavin Donaldson. "Both teams looked hot and tired and like they were looking for some shade."

Statistics were as even as the final score.

Wesleyan held a 15-13 margin in shots and a 7-6 lead in shots-on-goal.

Millersville owned an 8-5 margin in corner kicks.

Wesleyan back-up keeper Luka Pauk got the start and was strong in the net posting the shutout while turning away seven shots.

The tie left Wesleyan with a 0-1-1 record.

They will return to action Friday at Notre Dame College. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. Following that, they will return home Sunday for a huge contest against Charleston that will begin at 3 p.m.
