Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – One minute of bad soccer led to a defeat for the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats today against Notre Dame in a Mountain East Conference contest.
The Lady Bobcats dropped a 2-0 decision.
Following a scoreless first half, Notre Dame scored their first goal at the 61:56 mark when Maranda Melton scored on a rebound following a defelction on a corner kick.
Just 47 seconds later, Katarina Doncevic scored from 20 yards out as she found the left side of the net.
Wesleyan owned a 4-3 lead in shots-on-goal while Notre Dame had a 2-1 margin in corner kicks.
With the win, Notre Dame leapfrogged Wesleyan into second place in the MEC standings.
Notre Dame improved to 10-1-2 overall and 9-1-2 in the MEC.
Wesleyan fell to 9-2-3 overall and 8-2-3 in the MEC.
Wesleyan will return to action Thursday as they go on the road to face Shepherd in a conference outing.
The game will kick-off at noon.
