SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team gave up a goal to Notre Dame College midway through the second half and was never able to get that elusive first goal as they dropped a 1-0 decision in Mountain East Conference action.
The lone goal of the game came in the 57th minute as Leonardo Palva scored on a header right in front of the net on a cross.
Wesleyan bested Notre Dame earlier in the season at home by a 2-1 score.
Wesleyan owned a 12-4 margin in shots and a 4-2 lead in shots-on-goal.
The Bobcats also had a 5-3 lead in corner kicks.
The loss dropped Wesleyan to 7-7 overall and 5-5 in the MEC.
Notre Dame improved to 8-4 overall and 7-2 in the MEC.
Wesleyan will play again this Thursday as they hit the road to play Shepherd in a MEC contest.
The game will start at 2:30 p.m.
