Box Score BUCKHANNON – The home opener for the West Virginia Wesleyan lacrosse team was a tough one as they dropped an 18-3 decision to Edinboro (Pa.) University today at Cebe Ross Field.
Wesleyan fell behind early by a 7-0 score and was never able to get the ship righted as they dropped an 18-3 decision.
Kim Lubic finally put Wesleyan on the board at the 16:58 mark with an unassisted goal.
Following an Edinboro goal five minutes later, Darla Quevedo tallied a goal with Natalie Schaffner getting the assist at the 10:49 mark of the first period.
That made it an 8-2 contest.
Edinboro closed out the first half with three goals to take an 11-2 lead into the intermission.
With Edinobro scoring the first three goals of the second half, they took a 14-2 lead.
Lubic scored the lone goal of the second half for the Lady Bobcats as she scored on a free position shot with 15:18 remaining in the game.
Edinboro closed out the game scoring four unanswered.
The young Lady Bobcat team is now 0-3 on the season.
They will return to action this Friday against Wilmington (Del.) at 1 p.m.
