Tennis Lady Bobcats Dominate Shepherd, 9-0

MORGANTOWN -- The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat tennis team got dominating play from the top of their lineup Sunday as they eased past Shephered University by a 9-0 score in their MEC opener.

The home match was held in Morgantown at the Ridgeview Racquet Club as the Lady 'Cats await completion of their new tennis facility on campus.

The Lady Bobcats had identical 6-0, 6-0 wins from Rebekka Heigermoser (pictured) and Paula Pimenta in the top two singles positions, while Paula Pimenta and Cecilia Martinez led from start to finish at the No. 1 doubles spot to get the Ladt Bobcats on the scoreboard first.

Martinez, Estel Fernandez, Mariona Junyer, and Sarah Cameron each tallied singles and doubles wins on the day.

Wesleyan returns to action Thursday as they will travel to play MEC rival UVa.-Wise in Wise.

The match time is now set for 3 p.m.
