Volleyball Lady 'Cats Fall Twice in 2016 Debut

WEST CHESTER (Pa.) – The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team opened their season today in the West Chester (Pa.) University Ram Fest Invitational with a pair of contests.

The Lady Bobcats opened the season with a 3-1 loss to Philadelphia University and then dropped a 3-0 decision to West Chester later in the evening.

Against Philadelphia, the Lady 'Cats lost the first set by a 25-18 score but came back to win the second set, 25-23. They dropped the third set, 25-17, before falling in the fourth and final set, 25-17.

Stacie Baumann had 10 kills in the contest and Paulina Nottingham had 25 assists.

In their second outing, the Lady 'Cats fell in straight sets – 25-16, 26-24 and 25-8.

Ashton King had five kills and Nottingham had 16 assists while Hannah Moore had nine digs.

Wesleyan (0-2) will continue play in the Ram Fest Invitational as they meet Millersville at 10 a.m. and Shaw at noon.
