Box Score Coach Nancy Wheeler's West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team fought a talented Shepherd team hard Friday night, but fell in straight sets 19-25-20-25, 25-27.
Shepherd is ranked second in the Mountain East Conference, but was in danger of losing the third set as the Lady Bobcats held a 25-24 advantage into extra play. But the Rams recorded three consecutive points to close the match.
It was Senior Night in the Rockefeller Center, as Wesleyan bid farewell to four seniors; King, Blend,
Morgan Matter, and
Leah Casarano.
Wesleyan falls to 12-18 overall, and 6-9 in the MEC. Shepherd improves to 22-6 and 11-4.
Wesleyan is back in action Saturday afternoon, hosting Fairmont State in the regular season finale.
