FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Following their first win of the season on Friday against Chestnut Hill, the West Virginia Wesleyan baseball team ended their spring break tour with a pair of losses to that same team on Saturday.

Wesleyan lost game one to Chestnut Hill by a 10-2 score and then dropped their second outing by a 5-3 score.

Wesleyan returns to north with a 1-10 record.

In game one, Chestnut Hill scored two runs in the top of the first, but Wesleyan countered with two runs of their own.

Wesleyan capitalized on a Chestnut Hill error and a one-run single from Austin Keene.

The 'Cats were blanked the rest of the game as Chestnut Hill picked up three in the third, one in the fifth and four in the seventh.

Wesleyan outhit Chestnut Hill by an 8-6 margin but allowed 12 walks.

Dylan Frye led the offense with three hits while Keene had two.

Three pitchers went to the mound for Wesleyan as they allowed just three earned runs on six hits.

In the second game, Wesleyan grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the second.

Nick Bader scored on a sacrifice fly by Alex Skinner and Keene scored on a ground out by Dillon Wagman.

Chestnut Hill scored one in their half of the second and took the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third for a 3-2 lead.

They added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to extend their advantage to 5-2.

Wesleyan tacked on their final run in the top of the fifth when James Fraser raced home on a double by Bader.

Both teams collected six hits.

Bader had two of the six hits for Wesleyan.

Jake Bishop suffered the loss pitching two innings of relief.

Wesleyan will return to action on the road Tuesday, weather permitting, against Ohio Valley in a non-conference game.

First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
