Women Triumph Over Wise

BUCKHANNON- West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball team ended their seven game losing streak Wednesday night on their home court against UVA Wise, winning 60-43. 

The Bobcats went on a 21-6 run in the second quarter then a 20-7 run in the third quarter and never looked back. Wesleyan out-rebounded Wise 53-45 securing the win.

 Wesleyan was led by Mari Stewart and Brittany Stawovy both scoring 14 points. Stewart with a double-double also pulled down 17 rebounds. Stacy Remer contributed 11 points while Tara Goldman added 9 rebounds.

Bianca Lockamy led Wise with 10 points followed by Janice Ladson scoring 7 points.

 The Bobcats increase their overall record to 6-13 and an MEC record of 4-9. Wesleyan will return to play on Saturday at Concord for a 2pm tip off.
