Buckhannon, WV- West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball had their home opener on Wednesday evening against University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. The Bobcat hoopers played tough for three quarters, but got outscored 19-7 in the fourth quarter which led to them dropping the game 70-63.
Wesleyan had three players scoring in double figures.
Victoria Jackson had 20 points,
Tyra Hughes had 16, and Amaria Layeni had 10. Wesleyan shot 39% from the floor but just 21% in the fourth quarter.
Wesleyan had a ton of contribution from their bench in the game. The Bobcats had thirty points from the bench and limited turnovers in the game. The lady hoopers of Wesleyan will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for their first conference matchup of the year.
