West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball hit the road on Thursday afternoon to take on Urbana University. The Bobcats were looking to find a win in their first game of 2019. Wesleyan was able to hold off Urbana downing the Blue Knights 107-99 in double overtime.
The game was tightly contested the whole way with each quarter being decided by no more than two points. Wesleyan would use 53 points from their bench to secure the win coming from Stawovy, Gabauer, and Matlack who all finished in double figures.Â
Going in the double overtime, the Bobcats separated themselves starting the period on an 8-1 run. From that point on, Urbana could not answer back.
Tyra Hughes would lead Wesleyan with 26 points, while her and Matlack led the team with 5 assists a piece.
Wesleyan will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Notre Dame College.Â
