Buckhannon, WV- West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball took on the Shepherd University Rams at home on Wednesday evening.
The Bobcats took a 4-3 lead within the first two minutes of the game, but Shepherd went on a 19-5 run over the next six minutes to take a commanding lead into the second quarter. That run included four three pointers for the Rams.
Wesleyan battled in the second quarter knocking down two three pointers, and going a perfect 7 for 7 from the charity stripe but went into the half trailing the Rams 53-32.Â
Wesleyan was able to continue their efficiency from the line in the third quarter going 9 for 12. They were able to outscore the Rams in the third quarter, but went into the fourth down by 20.Â
Wesleyan could recover from the first quarter deficit and fell to the Rams 92-66.Â
The Cats were had three players in double figures.
Nicole Gilyard led the team in points with 13, shooting 71% from the field.Â
The Bobcats will be back in action this weekend against Glenville State.Â
