Recap
The dreaded third quarter hit again for the Lady Bobcats on Saturday afternoon against West Liberty. The first, second, and fourth quarters had a combined point differential of three points, yet it was the nine point swing in the third quarter that gave the game to West Liberty 73-63. Coach Kyle Cooper must have inspired his Hilltoppers at halftime, as they came out feisty and held the Lady 'Cats to just ten points in that third quarter. The game-highs in points and rebounds came from Wesleyan's
Malaika Kimmons, as she posted a double-double with twenty points and eleven rebounds. Both of those marks set new career highs for the sophomore from North Carolina. A low-scoring affair through the first three quarters, both teams got hot and scored twenty-plus points in the fourth, however it was too late, and not enough defense on the other side of the ball, for it to make a difference for the Lady 'Cats.Â
