BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (2-8, 1-7) women's basketball team dropped a home game to #3 Glenville State (14-0, 9-0) on Saturday (Jan. 15) afternoon at the Rockefeller Center.

WVWC Leaders
Malaika Kimmons led the 'Cats with 11 points.
Cierra Tolbert dropped 10 points.
Electra Allembert grabbed eight rebounds. Kimmons,
Cydney Lapczynski and
Shelby Genes each distributed two assists.

Glenville State Leaders
Four Pioneers eclipsed double-digit point figures. Zakiyah Winfield led the way with 26 points. Re'Shawna Stone dished out five assists and scored 17. Winfield crashed the glass for nine boards.

Inside the First Half
Courtney Wilfong drove the lane and made a layup to tie the game at two with 8:44 in the first quarter. After a GSC four-point run, Lapczynski put back a layup to cut the deficit in half. The Pioneers drained a three and led 9-4 midway through the first quarter. Both teams were scoreless for the next three minutes.
Daveona Hatchell made a layup to make the score 15-8 with 1:56 to go in the first frame. After one quarter, WVWC trailed 19-10. GSC ignited their best scoring run of the game, a 17-point run to take a 39-12 lead in the second quarter. GSC led 53-13 at the break.

Inside the Second Half
Kimmons scored five of her 11 points in the third quarter with two field goals and a free throw. GSC continued a balanced attack and led 81-27 at the end of the third. Kimmons scored six points in the final quarter and completed her 11 point tally. Glenville State cruised to a 98-38 road victory.
