GLENVILLE, W.Va. –The West Virginia Wesleyan (2-20, 1-19) women's basketball team dropped a road game to #1 Glenville State (25-0, 20-0) on Saturday (Feb. 19) afternoon at the Waco Center.

WVWC Leaders
Electra Allembert scored a season-high 23 points. The freshman from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands posted her third double-double and snagged 11 boards on the glass.
Courtney Wilfong went 7-for-11 from the field and contributed 16 points.
Daveona Hatchell added nine points and distributed five assists.

Glenville State Leaders
Five Pioneer players reached the double-digit point mark, led by Vendela Danielsson with 20 points. Taychaun Hubbard collected eight rebounds and three steals. Hubbard, Dazha Congleton and Re'Shawna Stone all posted four assists.

Inside the First Half
The Pioneers started the game with an 11-0 scoring run.
Symphonie Bryant-Brown completed a three-point play that put WVWC on the board. A layup by
Electra Allembert trimmed the GSC lead to 10 points. The Pioneers made a three at the end of the first quarter and held a 25-12 advantage.

The home team kept things rolling and opened the second quarter on a 12-2 run. Allembert drained a triple to cut off the Pioneer run. The Bobcats netted a 7-2 run in less than a minute with Allembert hitting her second three of the quarter. The freshman from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands converted a three-point play just over a minute remaining in the half. Glenville State led at the break by a score of 54-30.

Inside the Second Half
Daveona Hatchell opened the second half scoring with a triple. Allembert collected her third three of the game with six minutes left in the third quarter. Wilfong added three two-point jump shots in the third quarter of play. Glenville State led by 30 points at the end of three quarters of play.

Wesleyan posted a seven-point scoring run following a basket from
Ariana Harmon and Bryant-Brown and a shot from beyond the arc by Hatchell. The Pioneers answered with a 9-0 run and led 95-57 at the final media timeout. Allembert scored six points in the final three minutes of action. The Pioneers won 101-68 at home.
