The Bobcat women's basketball team got the 2023-24 season off with a victory Saturday, defeating visiting Penn State-Mont Alto 95-30.
 
Wesleyan put 18 players on the court and all but four scored. Emma Witt and Charlotte Sherrill led the Bobcats with 12 points each. Witt had a 3-for-4 field goal performance and completed 6 out of 7 attempts from the free throw line, and Sherrill posted 4-for-6 from beyond the 3-point stripe.
 
M'laya Ainsworth added 9 points, going 4-for-7 from the field that included one three-pointer. Desiree Roy had a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor to post 8 points and Sydney Baird added 7 points with a pair of field goals that included one 3-pointer and a pair of free throws.
 
The Bobcats are back in action Thursday, Nov. 16 for a 5:30 p.m. tip with Shepherd University at Rockefeller Center.
