The lead changed one time and that's all Frostburg State University needed to pull out a late victory over the Wesleyan women, 66-61, Wednesday.
 
Wesleyan kept the conference's leading scorer in check for much of the game, holding Emilee Weakley to only seven first half points. But Weakley started hitting in the second half, scoring 16 of her 23-point total to lead her team, and she hit a three-pointer with 1:47 remaining to put Frostburg up for the first and only time in the game.
 
Wesleyan maintained a comfortable lead in the first 20 minutes of play, going up by as much as 13, despite its leading scorer Emma Witt sitting the bench after the first 10 minutes with three personal fouls. The third quarter faired well for Wesleyan, too, as guard Shelby Genes added to her game-leading 21-point total and the 'Cats took a 45-36 lead into the final frame. That's when the team shooting percentage fell apart. Wesleyan had a 28 percent fourth quarter while Frostburg hit 69 percent of its attempts to outscore the home team 30-16.
 
Witt ended the game with six rebounds and 15 points, keeping her second in the conference in scoring behind Weakley. Sydney Baird added 10 points, three rebounds and two assists.
 
Weakley scored a double-double with her 23 points and 13 rebounds. Taylor Smith helped Frostburg with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists.
 
The Bobcats (10-5, 6-4 MEC) travel to Davis & Elkins College (1-14, 1-9 MEC) on Saturday, Jan. 25 for a 2 p.m. tip with the Senators.
